The Sonnets

Sonnets_NEW_150-01

I wanted something simple for The Sonnets and so settled on this feather pendant, in the hope that people would assume it was a quill pen, thus connoting writerly flourish. How did I do? I confess that I have not read any of the sonnets as far as I know, but even a cursory glance the Wikipedia entry about them suggests a degree of mystery. Who was the mysterious WH to whom they are dedicated? Was ‘The Fair Youth’ some object of Shakespeare’s affections? Who was ‘The Dark Lady?’ And what about ‘The Rival Poet?’ Were an alarmingly imminent printer’s deadline not weighing so heavily upon me, you might find something meatier and more prolix here. Instead, you get a silver feather and the shortest blurb out of all these Foul Papers.
